Narrative
ELY, NV – Four people died last Thursday in a fiery head-on crash along US-6 in south-central White Pine County.
The incident happened at 10:54 a.m. on US-6 near mile marker 31 in Ely, which is about 78 miles east of Eureka.
The investigation indicates that two vehicles, a pickup and an RV, were both hauling trailers when they collided on the westbound side of the highway. The crash occurred when the eastbound pickup attempted to pass another eastbound vehicle by entering the westbound lane.
Both vehicles caught fire as a result of the crash, and four occupants sustained fatal injuries. Authorities have not yet released their names to the public.
